But he is expected to find a big job for leadership rival Penny Mordaunt, as well as right-wingers such as Suella Braverman and Kemi Badenoch.

There could also be returns for Michael Gove, Dominic Raab, and former education secretary Gavin Williamson.

What’s the best laptop for home, travel or both?

The pandemic changed how and where a lot of people work. The small, ultraportable laptops valued by people who regularly traveled may have suddenly become woefully inadequate for working from home. Or maybe instead of needing long battery life, you’d rather have a bigger display with more graphics power for gaming.

All of that said, the Nest Wifi Pro’s speeds didn’t exactly wow us when we tested the system out on a gigabit network. Running speed tests across five rooms in a 1,350-square-foot test environment, the system returned overall average download speeds of 482 megabits per second to a Wi-Fi 6 laptop, and 524Mbps to a Wi-Fi 6E smartphone. Those speeds were incredibly stable and consistent across the entire test space, but they were beat out by other Wi-Fi 6E systems in the same tests, including the similarly specced Eero Pro 6E, which returned average Wi-Fi 6 downloads of 586Mbps and average Wi-Fi 6E downloads of 708Mbps. Granted, that system costs more than the Nest Wifi Pro, but still, it would have been nice to have seen faster speeds for a brand-new, high-profile system, especially over Wi-Fi 6E.

Once outside she hailed her ‘significant achievements’ in a defiant valedictory address with little hint of emotion and no apology as she drew a line under a disastrous 49 days at the helm of the country.

The other piece you’ll want to consider is the display. For gaming, look for screens with a high refresh rate of 120Hz or faster so games look smoother while playing. For content creation, look for displays that cover 100% sRGB color space.

The world’s richest man arrived at the Baron Investment Conference at the Metropolitan Opera House in Manhattan in high spirits and laughed about the number of enemies he had in front of New York’s wealthiest investors.

This thin, 3-pound convertible is a solid choice for anyone who needs a laptop for office or schoolwork. The all-metal chassis gives it a premium look and feel, and it has a comfortable keyboard and a responsive, smooth precision touchpad. Though it’s light on extra features compared to its premium linemate, the Yoga 9i, it does have one of Lenovo’s sliding shutters for its webcam that gives you privacy when you want it. And it has a long battery life to boot at 12 hours, 45 minutes in our tests. The latest version with 12th-gen Intel processors starts at less than $1,000.

private equity fund Bain Capital and north Asia fund MBK Partners to form a separate consortium, is also preparing to bid, but is unlikely to submit a binding proposal by Monday, two of the sources said.

But, again, that great hardware comes at a price. Also, you’re limited to just Apple laptops. With Windows and Chromebooks (more on these below), you get an amazing variety of devices at a wide range of prices.

That said, I was a bit surprised to see that the Nest Wifi Pro doesn’t include any Ethernet jacks that are capable of accepting speeds that are faster than a single gigabit. That means that the mesh router won’t be able to take full advantage of the multi-gig internet plans that we’ve seen emerging over the last year or so from a wide range of providers, including AT&T, Ziply Fiber, Verizon, Xfinity, Frontier — and Google Fiber, which recently touted speeds as high as 20Gbps in its latest field tests. With wired speeds capped at just 1Gbps, Google’s own Nest Wifi Pro wouldn’t be the router I’d recommend for an internet plan like that.

After several rounds of speed tests, the Nest Wifi Pro returned average download speeds just shy of 500Mbps. Those speeds were quite consistent from test to test, Gadgetinku which is why those dots in the scatter plot are all so close together. Still, other Wi-Fi 6E systems have hit faster speeds in these same tests, particularly at close range.

JIC hopes to evaluate Toshiba’s businesses in more detail, including the impact of slumping global semiconductor demand on the value of Toshiba’s 40.6% stake in flash memory chip maker Kioxia Holdings Corp, one of the sources said.

That said, multi-gig internet plans like that are expensive, and probably more speed than just about anybody needs at home at this point. Still, it’s a curious omission with the Nest Wifi Pro, and perhaps a missed opportunity to make the router feel more future-proofed.

That’s not the only noteworthy change. Just as it adds in support for Wi-Fi 6E, the Nest Wifi Pro takes some features away, too. The price is also higher this time, at $400 for a three-pack. That’s about twice as much as the previous-gen Nest Wifi’s three-pack currently costs, and it’s more than that system cost at launch three years ago, too — but it’s also a lot less than other mesh systems that support Wi-Fi 6E, including Amazon’s Eero Pro 6E, the Linksys Velop Atlas Max, and the AXE11000 version of Netgear Orbi.
